NUT PRODUCTS

Almonds, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts and many other more or less exotic nuts, each time are usually accompanying our drinks or served at the feast days. Also, they  are used as a component in various sweet or savoury dishes. In any case, the nuts compose a healthy, nutritious, and delicious nutritional choice and that is the reason why they must be part of our diet not only in celebrations and on special occasions but in our breakfast, snacks and our meals too.

ALMONDS

SYNCAFE SA trades almonds from all the parts of the world. In us, you can find Greek Firanies and Texas from the regions of Larissa and Volos and Spanish Firanies as well.

We can also supply you American Almonds of type Caramel Supreme, Butte Padre, Non-Pareil Supreme and California in all sizes.

 You will also be able to find White Almonds, Crocan and Almond’s file.

PRUNES

Our twenty-year collaboration with “Maitre Prunille”, the biggest cooperative production of prunes in the world comprises us with honour.

So, in us,you can find prunes of the aforementioned production company with and without core, in all sizes.

ROASTED CHIKPEAS

Roasted chickpeas are not dry nuts but chickpeas which they are roasted. Most of the times, roasted chickpeas at the market are primarily from Greece, but sometimes they may also be imported from Turkey.
 
There are two categories, the soft one and the hard with no differences in nutritional value. Chickpeas are low in fat, a good source of protein and carbohydrates. It is impressive that two handfuls of chickpeas equal to one portion of lean meat and one serving of pasta.

WALNUTS

Walnuts are one of the most popular kinds of nuts in our country. A nut that used in a variety of ways in our diet Walnuts, which are well known to be a high calorie and misconceived food, hide an enormous nutritional treasure.

For us, the walnut is one of the most important products. Having opened a direct communication with Ukraine and Chile, we import the best consignments of each country. 

CASHEWS

  Cashews were discovered in the 16th century by the Portuguese in Brazil and from this country spread around the world. In the Greek market, we found them at any time of the year imported from India and Vietnam. We mostly import them raw (in white colour) they get fried (or roasted) and salted so, their colour becomes golden.

PISTACHIOS

Pistachios are originated from Central Asia and arrived in Aegina in the early 20th century. In the market, we consume, fresh Greek pistachios from Aegina, Megara but also other areas such as Fthiotida, Halkidiki and Evia. They enter the market in early September.
We are importing pistachios from other countries mostly, from Iran and Syria that are equally good to Greek, but also from America where American pistachios are very different compared to the Greek ones.  We can buy them with the nutshell or just the kernel, cooked or uncooked, salted or unsalted but always fresh.

PEANUTS

The groundnut, the plant that we get the peanut it first appeared in South America. Portuguese were the ones who introduce it to the rest of the world.  Peanuts are found in the market in September and are rarely Greek- usually, we import them from Egypt (that is probably how they got their name) China and Argentina. We can buy them in their natural form (with Shell) roasted (salted or unsalted) or without their skins fried and salted (famous pinats).

Peanuts are very popular in the market, and they come in many forms: coated with flour and spices, egg the type Zolita, Juanita and Krokerino.

Our main supplier is Agricultural Association COTAGRO from Argentina. 

HAZELNUTS

 Hazelnuts are produced all over Europe, Western Asia and Northern Africa. However, 75% of the world production of hazelnuts are from Turkey. They are mainly consumed in our country because Greek production is so little.

Hazelnuts enter the market in August. Imported nutshelled, then roasted and thus leave the skin. The best hazelnuts are not bitter or brown (this is a sign that they may be rotten).
